Spring is in the air as Lambing Live returns to a Staffordshire farm

Hundreds of new lambs, chicks, piglets and kid goats mean that Spring is definitely in the air at a Staffordshire farm this February.

The National Forest Adventure Farm, in Tatenhill, will be alive with the bustling patter of tiny hooves and feet as the popular New Life on the Farm event welcomes in the arrival of Spring this half-term.

From Saturday 18th to Sunday 26th February families will be able to meet the new arrivals, bottle feed lambs and learn more about rural life on a farm.

The farm’s popular Lambing Live Tent will also return with the ‘Ewe Tube’ channel even offering the possibility to see a spring lamb being born in the sheep maternity ward, which will be home to 400 ewes this year.

Tom Robinson, who runs the National Forest Adventure Farm with brother Ivor, said it was a great opportunity for families to explore the 40 acres of fun countryside activities while finding out more about life on the farm.

He said: “Spring is always a magical time at the farm with lots for families to see and do. The arrival of the lambs, chicks, piglets and other animals mean the site is always bustling with activity and children can’t wait to try feeding and meeting the young farm animals up close.

“This year we have over 400 ewes in our special sheep maternity ward and the Lambing Live YouTube channel offers a rare glimpse at life behind the scenes.

“With hundreds of new arrivals from fluffy chicks to baby piglets, guinea pigs and goats, a Spring farm visit is guaranteed to provide families with lots of enjoyable ways to spend some quality time together outdoors.”

Attracting over 7,000 visitors every year New Life on the Farm includes lots of activities to mark the arrival of the new animals with families getting the chance to try their hand at being a farmer for the day.

From planting your own crops to mending the broken fences game and building a miniature scarecrow, children can find out more about life on the farm while meeting the new animals on the 40 acre farm park. There is also the chance to have a go with the lambing simulator or milk the model cow Molly.

Meet Farmer Fiona and Farmer Francis who will be helping Farmer Fogg this year and get the chance to test drive the remote-control tractors around the mini farm or rebuild the broken tractor with the interactive puzzle.

Entrance to New Life on the Farm also includes all the usual farm favourites including pedal Go-Karts, frisbee golf, Jurassic Canyon sand fossil dig, tractor rides, animal barn, giant jumping pillows and JCB Big Dig Zone.

New Life on the Farm will be held from Saturday 18th February to Sunday 26th February.

Tickets start from £12.59 and can be booked online.
