Aspiring young footballers have been given a helping hand as Creative Word PR pitches in with training support.
Hatton United Junior Football Club’s new Under 13s girls’ team has received additional kit and training equipment thanks to a £285 donation.
Having just celebrated its 10th anniversary owner Cheryl provided new training tops and equipment to support the team which registered in the Derby League in September.
Kira Banham, who manages the 12-strong team of girls aged 11 to 13 and is currently looking to add new players, said: “Interest in women’s football is continuing to see strong growth in girls grassroot teams. It has been fantastic to be able to support Hatton United Juniors in opening the new team and we couldn’t be more grateful to all our sponsors in helping the girls to get the equipment and kit they need to do their very best on the pitch each week. It has been a great start to our first season, and I am looking forward to the girls going from strength to strength this year.”
Hatton United Junior FC was founded in 2014 and is one of the largest grassroots junior clubs in the Derbyshire and Burton league with more than 17 boys’ and girls’ teams across all age groups. The club, which trains at The Washlands in Burton, currently supports a mixture of boys and girls’ teams from 5 to 17. Hatton United Junior FC now offers a pathway both into the male and female adult game and hopes to encourage a life-long love of the sport.
Cheryl Morris, who trained as a journalist before setting up Creative Word PR in 2015, said: “When I set up Creative Word PR I wanted to help make a difference in my community. As I mark my 10th anniversary it is great to be able to support Hatton United Junior FCs newest team. It is so important for young girls at this age to have sporting and team influences in their lives. I can’t wait to see how they grow as a team.”
Creative Word PR, based in Burton, is an award-winning PR and content service which has been recognised by Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis in the Small Business Sunday Awards. The funds have gone towards training tops and bibs to help the young players when training and at matches.
